Animal Bodysuit for < Sleep Alongside a Hibernating Bear >

© Bunkamura Theatre Cocoon

The drama was specially written by novelist Hideo Furukawa as the first installment of Bunkamura’s 25th anniversary performances.
The stage was directed by the theatre’s artistic director, Yukio Ninagawa.
We produced a bear family and two dogs, which have key roles in the story.
Gimmicks to move the animal mouths along with the words (jaws) of the wearer’s dramatically expanded the performance’s expressions.
Furthermore, the special tights designed to melt in the shade enabled movements of the dogs’ legs, which is normally not expressible with human legs.
