For < Town Saves Ocean Crises Project >, an initiative led by NPO Umisakura and Japan Foundation, we produced “Umi-No-Sakebi-Uo (Wraaghh!)”.
“Umi-No-Sakebi-Uo (fish of ocean scream)” is a giant fish object produced based on a design by media personality Takeshi Tsuruno. Its function is to collect rubbish after beach cleaning.
To keep the collected rubbish visible from outside, it uses special FRP with high transparency.
At the < Special Beach Clean > at the beach of Sho-nan on June 17 (Sun), the unveiling of “Umi-No-Sakebi-Uo” took place. Following the event, the object, stuffed with the collected rubbish, was put on display at New Enoshima Aquarium.
In the following month on July 14 (Sat), the second “Umi-No-Sakebi-Uo” made an appearance at < Shibuya Special Town Cleaning >, which took place in Shibuya.
Afterwards, the two “Umi-No-Sakebi-Uo” went on to a tour exhibition in the city halls of Shibuya and Fujisawa to promote its activity to clean both the ocean and town.
